"Deep plane" the royal method among facelifts

Who is a good candidate for a facelift?
Until a few years ago, it was mostly clients in their fifties. Today, the age limit has shifted more towards 40, but younger people are no exception. This is mainly due to the increasing demands on one's appearance and the possibilities of plastic surgery. It is very individual. It depends on how one subjectively perceives oneself, and also aging itself manifests itself at a different age for everyone.
What are the trends in surgical facial rejuvenation?
Currently, there is a lot of talk about the deep plane method, which is a big trend both worldwide and domestically. This type of facelift guarantees a longer lasting and more stable result. The shift occurs not only in the subcutaneous layer, but also in the so-called deeper layer at the level of the fascia (connective tissues). This makes the effect of the facelift more durable and the pull on the scars less. The trend is also to combine several procedures at once. Specifically with MyFaceLift, this tends to be transferring your own fat to add volume in the face, enhancing the cheeks or softening nasolabial folds. Additionally, a facelift is often combined with upper or lower eyelid surgery.
How does the deep plane procedure work?
A deep plane facelift, like a traditional facelift, can be performed under general anesthesia or under local anesthesia, which is less taxing on the body. The outpatient procedure also has the advantage of not requiring hospitalization. For greater comfort, we give clients premedication before the procedure, which not only calms them down, but also shifts the pain threshold. Initially, they may experience only mild discomfort with the application of local anesthetic. During the operation, they do not feel pain, only touch or movement. Clients mention that the first night after surgery is slightly painful, otherwise they have no difficulty or need to take analgesics, even in the first few days after the procedure.
What are the main benefits?
The main benefit of the deep plane method is that the firming and shifting of tissues takes place in deeper, firmer layers, so it is not just skin shifting and removal of skin excesses. Thus, a more permanent result is achieved. It is of course individual, depending on the age and tissue quality of each patient, but a satisfactory effect is usually visible at least 10 years after the procedure.
What is the recovery processafter the procedure?
After about 14 days, it should not be obvious at first glance that the client has undergone plastic surgery. It is recommended to take at least a week off, during which it is necessary to observe a resting regime, care for scars, and possibly cool the face. From the second week after the procedure, it is possible to function in a normal mode. As with almost any plastic surgery, the final result will take some time, namely two to three months. These are minor details such as the absorption of minor swelling or the maturation of the scar.
Is the result permanent and can the procedure be repeated over time?
The effect of any surgery is temporary. It can never be permanent because the body ages constantly. Specifically with a facelift, we firm and shift the tissues, which can be imagined as a kind of return in time, and from that point on the face will begin to work naturally again and gradually loosen. With a deep plane facelift, the stability of the result is longer compared to other methods. Of course, it is possible to repeat the procedure, but with a well-executed technique this will not be necessary for 10-15 years.
Are there any scars left after the surgery?
It is not possible to operate without scars, but the scar is usually very fine, tiny and only visible on closer inspection. Of course, the scar takes at least half a year to mature, when it changes colour and fades. After about half a year, the scar is almost invisible. It also depends on the postoperative care of the scar, such as the use of products in the form of silicone gels, creams, or possibly the scar can be softened with a laser.
What to do or not to do before the procedure?
Before any surgery, including facelift surgery, it is advisable to eat a protein-rich diet and take collagen supplements. We also advise clients who do not have a stable weight to undergo surgery only when it is stable in the long term. This will prevent subsequent weight loss or weight gain from interfering with the outcome of the surgery.
