Non-invasive liposuction - 10 questions you ask most often

Cryolipolysis is a painless treatment that can remove several centimetres in problematic areas without any anaesthesia, scarring or recovery. It may seem like a small miracle? If you're dealing with milder body asymmetry, non-invasive cold liposuction will help to your satisfaction.
We interviewed our specialist in non-invasive liposuction, nutritionist and world champion in bikini fitness in one person Šarka Juříčková, DIS. What are clients most interested in?
1. Who is non-invasive liposuction suitable for?
The ideal client can be both female and male, preferably up to the age of 45. Suitable clients are those who are slightly overweight, or even those who have their BMI within the normal range, but are unable to reduce fat on certain areas, which may be mostly genetic or hormonal. However, it is important to know that cryolipolysis is not a weight loss treatment, but it helps to eliminate fat "pads" that cannot be gotten rid of otherwise.
2. What kind of fat loss can be achieved with cryolipolysis?
Up to 15% of the fat cells in the treatment area can be frozen inone treatment. Habits also play an important role - diet, exercise and more. I always say that if the client invests time and money in the treatment and achieves fat reduction in the area, it is good to maintain this beautiful result with a healthy lifestyle.
3. What are the most popular areas for treatment?
The most common are the hips, inner and outer thighs or abdomen.
4. When are the results visible and how many times does the treatment need to be repeated?
Results can be seen after 2 to 3 weeks and the final effect after 8 to 12 weeks. So, if your motivation for getting rid of extra inches is the upcoming swimsuit season, the ideal time for cryolipolysis is now.
5. What is the recovery process after non-invasive liposuction?
There is almost no recovery. There are only a few restrictions the day after treatment. The skin is sensitive to higher temperatures for 24 hours after the procedure. Therefore, the treated area must not be exposed to high temperatures, so a hot bath, sauna or spa is not recommended. After the treatment, avoid UV rays for 5 days and do not sunbathe in the sun or in a solarium. The client can resume normal activities almost immediately.
6. When is it not possible to undergo the treatment?
The treatment should not be performed during menstruation, pregnancy or breastfeeding, in case of allergy to cold, functional organ disease, diabetes, cold or infection or in case of acute dermatitis in the area, varicose veins and bleeding disorders. As with invasive liposuction, the cryolipolysis itself is preceded by a consultation where we discuss the client's medical condition and assess whether it is completely safe for them and their expectations are realistic.
7. In what cases is non-invasive treatment no longer sufficient?
If there is more fat in the area, the skin is less elastic, and the metabolism and lymph are slower, we will recommend choosing one of the invasive liposuction methods for body contouring. This is often the case with clients in their 40s, where, for example, gentle laser liposuction will achieve a more effective result. The advantage is a quick recovery time, which with the most modern liposuction devices is as little as 2 to 3 weeks, and an almost immediately visible result.
8. Are there any risks during the procedure?
After the procedure, there may be some redness in the area for several minutes to hours, decreased skin sensitivity for the first few days, and mild pain or swelling, but no restriction on daily activities. Exceptionally, headache, temperature, and superficial injury may occur after the freezing effect, but I have not encountered this once in my 5 years of client practice.
Cryolipolysis is completely safe. A protective membrane is applied to the treated area to prevent damage to the skin. The cold acts mainly on the fat cells, which are sensitive to cold. The cold breaks down the fat cell envelope, causing damage and disintegration.
9. Does the treatment also help to tighten sagging skin?
Unfortunately, cryolipolysis alone will not resolve poor skin elasticity. MEDICOM Clinic offers several innovative treatments, such as the Emtone or LPG method, to firm the skin or smooth out unevenness. Among the invasive methods, laser liposuction is the solution, during which the skin is beautifully tightened.
10. On what principle does cryolipolysis work?
Cryolipolysis literally freezes fat cells. These are then naturally flushed out through the lymphatic system. It is a comfortable treatment that will slim you down while you relax. Find out more about how it works in the next article: Cryolipolysis takes a few centimetres off.
