"Laser tattoo removal"
Probably like every young girl, since I was sixteen years old, I wanted to get a tattoo and I made my dream come true. I got a small black butterfly tattooed on my stomach back then. But when I grew up and started planning to start a family with my husband, I didn't find the tattoo on my stomach so attractive. I imagined how the tattooed bow tie on my pregnant belly would grow and suddenly I wanted to get rid of it as quickly as possible.
"The consultation was very pleasant."
Before the treatment started, however, the doctor gave me a good talking to. She wanted to know how long I'd had the tattoo on my stomach, if it was done well and if there were any colour additives added to the black ink that could complicatethe tattoo removalprocess . I, in turn, wondered how long it would take for the bow tie to come off my stomach, and I have to say that it certainly wasn't in one session.
"I had five treatments in total"
But the frequency of laser treatments is very individual. A lot is said to depend on your age, the condition of your skin, the age of the tattoo and its size etc. It's quite a science. So coming in for laser treatments only five times felt like a win in the end. But seeing the result today, I would definitely go through the process again. The laser method does take longer to fade the tattoo, but I really have no sign of the tattoo on my stomach now. No scar or outline of the tattoo, or maybe a shadow of it. There's just nothing like that left on my stomach.
"There'sno question of pain."
Admittedly, I was afraid of the laser the first time. I didn't know what to expect from it, so I preferred to have a numbing cream with an anaesthetic applied to the tattoo before the treatment. However, I was able to manage all the other treatments just fine without it. Today I'm happy for my cleaner body and I would probably have thought about another new tattoo for a really long time...

Karolína's pain was relieved by a numbing cream with an anaesthetic and the fact that her tattoo was relatively small. When removing larger tattoos, despite the numbing cream, there is usually some pain. However, the intensity depends on everyone's pain threshold. In general, however, the level of pain with this laser treatment can be compared to the sensation of a rubber band pinching the skin. Nothing too bad. During the treatment itself, the laser beam then gradually shoots the pigment. The energy of the laser beam is adjusted on the device by the treating doctor so that the skin heals safely after the tattoo is removed and no scars form. However, the tattoo disappears gradually. The number of laser treatments depends on the size of the tattoo, its age and quality. The average is 3-8 treatments at an interval of 3-4 weeks.
