More about the procedure

Arm liposuction is a minimally invasive treatment that is performed using small cannulas inserted under the skin to suction out fat. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and causes little scarring. Liposuction is performed under local anesthesia and you can go home immediately after the procedure.

  • The procedure takes about 1 hour
  • Liposuction is performed under local anaesthesia
  • Effective liposuction of fat from the arm area
  • You can go home immediately after the procedure
  • Observe a rest period of at least 1 week

Who is the procedure suitable for?

Arm liposuction is ideal for anyone who has a stable weight and excess fat in the arm area that does not respond to diet and exercise. It is suitable for those looking for an effective and gentle method of body contouring. It is necessary to have good skin elasticity, otherwise the results of the procedure will be unsatisfactory.

For whom is the procedure not suitable?

Arm liposuction is not suitable for people who are obese, pregnant women, or people with serious health problems such as cardiovascular disease or diabetes. Furthermore, liposuction is not recommended for people with poor skin elasticity and those with active infections or skin problems in the treatment area.

How does liposuction of the arms work?

The surgeon applies local anesthesia to the treatment area and then makes small incisions. He or she inserts narrow cannulas that suction out the fat cells. The length of the procedure depends on the amount of fat being suctioned and takes about 1 hour.

Recovery

Recovery from arm liposuction is generally quick and not very painful. You can expect mild swelling, bruising and discomfort immediately after the procedure. Rest and avoid physical exertion. We recommend wearing compression garments for several weeks to minimize swelling and promote healing.

Different methods of arm liposuction

There are several methods of arm liposuction, and their use depends on the desired result and the condition of the area to be treated:

  • Tumescent liposuction: a classic method that involves the application of a tumescent solution to numb the area and facilitate fat suction.
  • Laser liposuction: uses laser technology to break up fat cells and stimulate collagen production for better results.
  • Ultrasonic liposuction: uses ultrasound waves to break up fat cells before suctioning them out.
  • Water liposuction: a unique method of slimming and body contouring using a water jet.

What can arm liposuction be combined with?

Arm liposuction can be combined with other aesthetic procedures for a more comprehensive result. The most commonly combined procedures include:

Consultation

Prior to the procedure, a consultation with a plastic surgeon or consultant is essential to assess your condition, your expectations and explain the details of the procedure. Based on your body type and the amount of fat you want to remove, they will recommend the most appropriate arm liposuction method.
During your consultation , they will explain in detail the procedure and what you can expect before, during and after surgery. He or she will inform you about the necessary preparation, including recommendations regarding diet, medications and other instructions.

Preparing for the procedure

Arm liposuction is not suitable for everyone. Your doctor will warn you of contraindications such as pregnancy, obesity, serious medical conditions (e.g., cardiovascular disease, diabetes), and lack of skin elasticity. If you have any active infections or skin problems in the arm area, the procedure will be postponed.

Procedure

Arm liposuction is usually performed under local anesthesia, which minimizes risks and shortens recovery time. In some cases, general anesthesia may also be used, depending on the extent of the procedure and the client's preference.
The doctor will make small incisions in predetermined areas of the arms. He or she inserts a thin cannula into these incisions to suction out the excess fat. The procedure is very gentle and precise, which minimizes damage to the surrounding tissues and ensures rapid healing.
Once the necessary amount of fat has been suctioned, the doctor will check the shape of the arms and ensure that they are symmetrical. He then seals the incisions and puts compression underwear (arm sleeve) on the arm.

Healing time

After the procedure, you will wear compression underwear to help reduce swelling and promote healing. Mild pain, swelling, and bruising are common, but usually go away within a few days. Your doctor may prescribe pain medication and provide instructions for caring for your incisions.
Most patients can return to normal activities within a few days after the procedure. More intense physical activity should be limited for a few weeks as directed by your doctor. It is important to ensure proper nutrition and adequate rest to allow the body to recover quickly.

Enjoying the result

To maintain the results of arm liposuction in the long term, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular physical activity. Although the results of liposuction are permanent, failure to maintain a healthy lifestyle can lead to fat re-growth in other areas of the body.

Price of arm liposuction

The final price is mostly influenced by the extent and details of the procedure. However, once we agree on the amount, you will not pay anything extra - the price includes the compression underwear you will wear after the procedure. What does the package include?

  • Professional consultation of the procedure
  • Free transport home (within the cities of our branches)

You often wonder

After liposuction, you will have about 0.5 cm of scars that do not heal, they are only covered with a patch. In addition, within one year after the treatment they will completely merge with the skin.

After liposuction, it is important to watch your energy intake and expenditure. Metabolism remains the same after the procedure as before. However, if your energy intake is higher, fat will start to be stored preferentially in areas where liposuction was not performed. For example, after liposuction of the hips, fat may be deposited more in the abdomen. Liposuction will reduce fat cells in the problem area, but a certain number must remain in the area to maintain body symmetry.

Taking a blood thinner is unfortunately a contraindication to the procedure. This medication should not be taken as early as one week before the planned procedure. Thus, it is up to your hematologist to authorize discontinuation of this medication for at least 14 days (one week before and one week after the procedure) without putting you at risk.

An expert consultant at the clinic will help you choose the most suitable type of liposuction. Consultation with her is free of charge and completely non-binding (valid only for Brno and Ústí nad Labem). If you want to consult the procedure directly with a plastic surgeon, this is also possible. You will pay 1000 CZK for the consultation with him, but in case of setting a binding date for liposuction and its undergoing, we will reduce the price of the procedure by this amount.
