Buttock liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that is usually performed under local anesthesia. Liposuction can be performed using several different techniques including traditional tumescent liposuction, water liposuction, laser liposuction, or ultrasonic liposuction.

Who is the procedure suitable for?
Buttock liposuction is suitable for men and women who are at a stable weight and are bothered by excess fat on the buttocks that does not respond to diet and exercise. Ideal candidates for liposuction must have good skin elasticity.
For whom is the procedure not suitable?
The procedure is not recommended for people who are obese, pregnant women or people taking blood thinners or with serious medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Liposuction is not suitable for patients with insufficient skin elasticity as the results of the treatment may not be satisfactory.
How does liposuction work?
The doctor infuses the treated area with a special tumescent substance that contains an anaesthetic. The fat is then suctioned out using thin liposuction cannulas. Liposuction takes about 2 hours. After the procedure, the client puts on compression underwear and goes home.
When suctioning fat from the buttocks, the doctor usually works from the sides of the buttocks to the tailbone. However, if you make arrangements, you can also get rid of fat stored, for example, just above the buttocks or on the back of the thigh in the gluteal groove.
Recovery
Recovery from buttock liposuction requires several days of rest. After the procedure , wear compression underwear for several weeks to promote healing and reduce swelling. You can return to normal activities within a few days, but limit physical exertion and exercise for a few weeks. You often wonder
If you decide to treat the so-called banana area with liposuction, i.e. the area just below the crease between the buttocks and the back of the thigh (the so-called inferior gluteal crease), the crease may deepen after the procedure. If the fat pads are excessively removed from this area, the large gluteal muscle may lose support. This would cause the buttocks to sag and overhang over the upper back thigh. However, the desire to treat this area of the buttocks is rarely encountered and the potential complications associated with it are also rare.
Taking a blood thinner is unfortunately a contraindication to the procedure. This medication should not be taken as early as one week before the planned procedure. Thus, it is up to your hematologist to authorize discontinuation of this medication for at least 14 days (one week before and one week after the procedure) without putting you at risk.
