Mini phlebectomy - minimally invasive surgery to remove varicose veins

Feeling of heavy legs, swelling, cramps, pain when standing for long periods and hiding legs in trousers and long skirts. Varicose veins (varicose veins) plague many of us. An effective and at the same time gentle solution to the problem is offered by mini-phlebectomy.

  • Minimally painful procedure with short recovery

    Less stress on the body

  • Performed as an outpatient under local anaesthesia

    Possibly under analgosedation

  • Quick and effective solution with almost negligible scarring

Wounds are so small (2-3mm) that they heal on their own

  • You can go home on the day of surgery

You can return to your normal activities almost immediately

The minimally invasive procedure, during which we remove unsightly protruding varicose veins, is performed under local anaesthesia or analgosedation - a combination of analgesics and sedatives to reduce pain, relax muscles and numb perception. Postoperative swelling and bruising occur to a significantly lesser extent than was the case with older methods. In most cases, the procedure is combined simultaneously with the vein laser ablation (EVLA) method.

The procedure is suitable for patients with no age limit who no longer want to hide their legs. Contraindications may be other serious diseases or pregnancy.

The first step is a thorough and painless ultrasound examination. The doctor will then consult with you about the most suitable treatment options and inform you about the course of the operation. The advantage of miniphlebectomy is the gentle method with minimal restriction and less stress on the body. In most cases, miniphlebectomy is combined with laser vein ablation(EVLA), but it can also be performed alone. Miniflebectomy can also be combined with sclerotherapy of smaller veins.

The doctor removes the damaged varicose veins with the help of individual punctures and special hooks. The wounds are small enough to heal on their own and then you can go home. You can return to your normal activities almost immediately. For the best result, you must wear compression elastic stockings continuously for 1 week after the procedure. For the next 2 weeks, wear them only during the day. However, their inconspicuous nature makes them easy to hide under clothing.

Normal activities can be performed after 3 days. Avoid heavy physical exertion for the first 1-2 weeks.

Wait 1-2 weeks after the procedure to do intense sports, sunbathing and sauna sessions.
