How does ultrasonic liposuction work?
Ultrasonic liposuction is usually performed under local anesthesia, but in some cases, general anesthesia may be recommended, depending on the extent of the procedure and patient preference. The doctor will make small incisions in the designated areas, insert a cannula and use ultrasound energy to dissolve the fat cells. These are then suctioned out of the body. The procedure usually takes 1-3 hours, depending on the amount of fat being suctioned and the area being treated.

Consultation
Prior to the procedure, a consultation with a physician or liposuction consultant is essential to evaluate your medical condition and determine if you are a suitable candidate for ultrasonic liposuction. You will discuss your expectations of the procedure, potential risks, and the recovery process. It will be explained what results you can expect and how to prepare for the procedure. We will assess whether there are any contraindications such as pregnancy, infections, skin problems or serious medical conditions. It is important to openly discuss your medical condition and any medications you are taking.
Pre-operative examination
Before liposuction under local anesthesia, you just need to undergo a basic blood test. You will also have an ECG and a chemical and urine sedimentation test before liposuction under general anesthesia. The results of the pre-operative examinations must not be older than 14 days and can be performed directly at our clinic.
Preparation for the procedure
Talk to your doctor in advance about the medications you normally take. Some medications may need to be discontinued or replaced with others before the procedure. Do not rub anything on the skin in the area to be operated on the day of the procedure; it should not be oily before surgery. Do not eat, drink or smoke from midnight before liposuction under general anaesthesia. Try to avoid stress and stay calm. A good mental state plays a role in recovery.
What to take with you
After liposuction under local anesthesia, we will let you go home, so you don't need to bring anything with you. We recommend that you choose loose, comfortable clothing. If you are going to have the procedure under general anesthesia, you will stay with us for at least one night. Therefore, please bring the medicines you normally take, spare underwear and toiletries. We'll give you everything else.
Compression underwear
After liposuction, we will dress you in compression underwear to help reduce swelling and promote healing. Do not remove it from your body for the first 24 hours. Continue to wear it for several weeks as directed by your doctor. The linen is quick-drying and easy to wash. You will receive one compression undergarment free of charge from us, but for added comfort we recommend that you purchase at least one additional one at the clinic so that you can rotate them.
Healing time
For the first 24 hours, you will have orange-colored fluid oozing out of the small skin wounds. This is fine, it is just the remnants of the tumescent solution. For the first 1-2 weeks after the procedure (while the wounds heal), shower only. Bathing is only advisable after the wounds have healed. Most patients can return to normal activities within a few days, but vigorous physical activity should be limited for a few weeks. It is important to ensure proper nutrition and adequate rest.
Follow-up care
To prevent unevenness and hardening at the site of the procedure, begin regular rolling of the area 2 weeks after liposuction - ideally 2x10 minutes a day, morning and evening. It is also worth supporting the result of the procedure with LPG lipomassage or Emtone treatment.
Enjoying the result
For the first few days after the procedure, the operated area will be slightly swollen. However, within 2 weeks it will calm down and you will see a visible slimming. You will enjoy the greatest effect about 2 months after the procedure.

You often wonder
After liposuction, you will have about 0.5 cm scars that do not heal, they are only covered with a patch and within a year after the treatment they will completely merge with the skin.
Not only after liposuction, it is of course important to watch your energy intake and expenditure. The body's metabolism remains the same after the procedure as before. However, if energy intake is higher, fat will start to be stored preferentially in areas where liposuction was not performed. For example, after liposuction of the abdomen, fat may be deposited more in the flanks, etc. Liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in the problem area, but a certain number of fat cells must remain in the area for the figure to be symmetrical.
Taking a blood thinner is unfortunately a contraindication to the procedure. This medication should not be taken as early as one week before the planned procedure. Thus, it is up to your hematologist to authorize discontinuation of this medication for at least 14 days (one week before and one week after the procedure) without putting you at risk.
After liposuction, it is recommended to limit physical activity for at least two weeks to a month.
The amount of fat extracted is not determined per kilogram, but per millilitre. It depends on the total weight of the client and the size of the problem area. During the procedure we always try to remove the maximum amount of subcutaneous fat.
The procedure is completely painless thanks to the tumescent solution. At the beginning, clients usually feel only the infusion of the solution into the subcutaneous tissue, while in the phase of fat suction everything is already numb and clients do not feel anything at all. The anaesthetic in the subcutaneous tissue continues to work for several hours after the operation.
The compression underwear serves as a bandage to aid proper healing and reduce post-operative swelling. The elastic underwear tightens the treated area and reduces pain during the healing phase after the procedure, in addition to helping the skin adhere to the subcutaneous tissue better and faster - thus promoting overall firming of the area after liposuction.
With liposuction under local anesthesia, only the problem area is numbed. The client is fully conscious during the procedure and can communicate and cooperate with the doctor. The doctor can position the client well or perhaps stand up to assess the result of the liposuction. In addition, there is no need for hospitalization in the clinic after local anesthesia and the recovery time after the procedure is shorter overall.
Tumescent solution is a mixture of adrenaline and an anesthetic. Thanks to adrenaline, there is no blood loss during the procedure and thanks to the anaesthetic, liposuction is almost painless. Most of the solution is sucked out with the fat during the procedure, the rest is excreted in the first few days after liposuction.
