Breast Modelling

For firm and natural looking breasts

Before the procedure

Choose a plastic surgeon and come for a consultation

The first important step is an initial consultation with the surgeon of your choice. You'll tell the doctor what you want the procedure to look like, and together you'll find the best way to achieve it. You will also discuss with your doctor the most suitable option for reshaping your breasts. The most common procedures performed at our clinic are augmentation, which is breast augmentation with implants, or augmentation including breast modelling.

At the consultation you will learn all the necessary information about the course of these procedures, postoperative healing and possible risks. At the same time, you will see the different types, shapes, sizes of implants and learn about the possibilities of their insertion. At home, you can also view before and after photos of our clients before and after the procedure.

You will choose the implants, arrange the date of surgery

The consultation is completely non-binding, but if you are interested in the procedure, you can directly discuss with the doctor not only the suitable breast implants and thethe method of their insertion (or augmentation, including modelling, if necessary), but also the date of a comprehensive pre-operative examination and the date of the surgery.

How to choose the right implants? Their choice will depend on the size of your chest, the volume of your breasts, the condition of your skin and a number of other parameters. The doctor will of course advise you on the choice. Your satisfaction and a natural result will be the priority.

One week before the procedure, watch out for medications

If you are taking medications containing coumarins, consult the prescribing doctor at least one week before the procedure about discontinuing them or replacing them with heparin.
If you are taking acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin, Anopyrin, Godasal, Thomapyrin), ibuprofen (Ibalgin, Brufen), naproxen (Nalgesin), vitamin E for a long time, take them off at least one week before the procedure.
Do not take any other medicines that contain these active substances. These drugs affect blood clotting and can lead to increased bleeding during and after surgery. If necessary, you can replace them with other analgesics after consulting your doctor.

If you are taking drugs from the tricyclic antidepressant group (Nortrilen, Melipramine, Anafranil, etc.), inform your surgeon and anaesthetist.

We will check your health before the operation

Your body must be in good condition and in perfect health before the procedure to ensure that the operation and the healing period go well. This will be determined by a comprehensive pre-operative examination.
We will perform a biochemical blood test, an ECG and a chemical and urine sedimentation test.
It is also necessary to undergo breast sonography prior to breast reconstruction surgery. However, all of these examinations will be performed directly at our clinics and are already included in the price of the procedure. You will therefore not incur any extra costs.

Part of the preparation will also be up to you

Do not eat, drink or smoke from midnight before the procedure.
Do not rub anything on your face or body, it should not be greasy. So don't put on any skin or body creams or ointments, don't wear make-up and don't wear perfume.
Bring all your medications that you take regularly, spare underwear and toiletries. We will provide everything else you need - towel, washcloth, shirt, gown, slippers, bedding, etc. - at the clinic.

During the procedure

The scar usually does not exceed 5 cm and is not very visible

Breast augmentation is performed under general anaesthesia. The surgeon first makes an incision at a pre-agreed location - either in the bra crease or around the breast areola. The incision will be about 5 cm long and the doctor will, of course, make it so that the scar after the operation is as inconspicuous as possible. The surgeon will then create a kind of pocket at the incision site, into which the implant will be inserted behind the breast tissue or under the chest wall muscles. After surgery, the doctor will still insert drains that will clean the operated area for the first few days.

You can have your breasts enlarged or even just sculpted

However, some women - often mothers after childbirth and during breastfeeding - require breast augmentation with modelling or wish to undergo modelling alone, which will shape, firm and lift their breasts but not change their size. In the case of these two modelling procedures, the surgeon makes an incision around the areola, leaving an anchor-shaped scar on the breast. In some cases, the milk ducts may also be disrupted during these procedures. However, the surgeons warn our clients of this risk during the consultation of the procedure itself. After breast modelling, breastfeeding is possible to the full extent or, in rare cases, to a limited extent.

Augmentation takes about an hour, modelling procedures 2 times as long.

The duration of the procedure depends on the method chosen. If you undergo augmentation alone, i.e. breast augmentation with implants, you will stay in the operating room for approximately one hour. However, in the case of augmentation including modelling or even modelling alone, the procedure time is usually doubled - the operation takes approximately 2 hours.

Staying at the clinic

Hospitalization takes a day or two

After the procedure, you will stay 1-2 days in the clinic with us. The exact length of hospitalization will be determined by the doctor. If you live in the same city where our clinic is located, we will be happy to take you home free of charge after the procedure. Otherwise, please make arrangements with a loved one for a ride, as you will not be able to drive after surgery.

Possible complications are strictly prevented.

Some complications may occur during or after surgery. These include infection in the surgical wound or around the implant. Probably the most serious possible complication is pulmonary embolism during the operation, but we take a number of precautions against this and advise our clients to temporarily discontinue medications that increase blood clotting.

The problem can also occur during healing. During recovery, the scar on the breast may become thick and protrude. After a period of time has passed since the procedure, one of our dermatology treatments may help. Your plastic surgeon will refer you to our dermatology department to improve the appearance of your scar.

Contractures and seromas will only happen to a minimum of patients

In a negligible number of cases, a kind of shell may form around the implant, which will grow and turn into a thick and rigid capsule. This phenomenon is called capsular contracture and is accompanied by pain and hardening of the breast. However, we can prevent or minimize the contraction.

If a client has damaged or scarred breast skin, for example, after radiation, the skin may thin due to tension and eventually cause the implant to rupture and deflate. Breast enlargement and soreness after surgery can then be caused by seroma, a fluid that can also form around the implant in some cases. Most often, however, seroma occurs if the client exerts herself too much after surgery or is injured in some way.

Observe a resting regime

If the resting position is not respected, a blood clot may form around the implant, for example, or the implant may shift and cause breast asymmetry.

However, all of the above complications are either not encountered at all or very rarely indeed in the clinic. The success of the surgery is due to the comprehensive pre-operative examination, the highest quality implants we use in our clinics and, last but not least, the experience of our plastic surgeons, who perform more than 1000 breast surgeries a year at the clinic.

After returning home

Follow your doctor's instructions during recovery

After surgery, you will be given a special elastic bra without underwire. Wear it consistently for 4-8 weeks after surgery, following the specific instructions of your doctor. Also follow a strict resting regimen for the first week. Do not go to work, drive a car, bend over, lift heavy objects (even children), and generally do not strain your arms with any sudden or strenuous movements. Only careful walking is appropriate. Depending on the type of occupation, you may return to work after 1-3 weeks. After about 2 months you can return to sport.

You will have 3 post-operative check-ups

You will have your first check-up one week after the procedure, a second check-up after 3 weeks and a final check-up after 3 months. If you have had breast augmentation with implants, we recommend that you have a follow-up sonogram every year to make sure everything is OK with your breasts.

The breasts will stabilize after 2-3 months

Breast augmentation is of course visible immediately after surgery. However, you should expect some post-operative swelling, which will temporarily make the breasts a little bigger. You can therefore judge the final condition after 2-3 months after surgery.

Long term

Quality implants last a lifetime

Nowadays, implants are already of such high quality that they can serve the client practically for a lifetime. Some breast correction and repeat procedures are sometimes required by young mothers whose breasts change significantly after childbirth and breastfeeding. Radical weight loss or a serious accident is another possible reason for repeat surgery. Exceptionally, it also happens that the client desires to replace the implants with larger ones.

You should come back for breast sonography 1 year after the breast surgery and continue to come regularly during this interval. All other preventive breast sonography examinations can be performed directly at our clinics.
