More about the procedure

We use the most powerful laser on the market, which not only effectively removes tattoos, but also deals with failed permanent makeup. Last but not least, this type of laser can also deal with pigment and age spots - both on the face and on the hands.

How tattoo removal works

If the area to be treated is more extensive, the doctor first numbs it with an anaesthetic cream, which is left on the treatment area for about an hour. The laser treatment itself then hurts much less and, in the case of a small area, may not even hurt at all. During the procedure, the laser sends out one pulse after another and the doctor treats one spot at a time. What is the principle behind the treatment, you ask? The laser beam essentially shoots the coloured spots or tattoos with its individual pulses. The white blood cells then evaluate the colour as something foreign in the body and gradually absorb it.

After treatment, the skin heals within 7-10 days.

Immediately after treatment, cool the treated areas with thin gel sheets. Afterwards, the area is rubbed with bepanthen or sprinkled with framycoin. Immediately after laser treatment, the pigment will darken, the area will be pinkish and may swell slightly. For at least 2 months after the treatment, protect the treated area against the sun with a cream with the highest possible UV factor. You can then repeat the treatment after approximately 6 weeks.

You often wonder

We offer tattoo removal or laser pigmentation removal with this type of laser only at our clinics in Prague and Brno.

We definitely recommend only laser. It is gentler on the body and allows you to treat the skin so that the tattoo leaves no traces if possible. After the skin has been sanded, you will have a scar.

It always depends on the pigment, age or quality of the permanent make-up. It is best to discuss your options with your doctor. It can be more complicated, for example, when removing a botched lip contour. Pigments used for contouring usually contain iron oxides. These react by turning black after the laser pulse. Therefore, before removing permanent lip contour, we always perform a one-pulse test to make sure that there is no adverse reaction. If the permanent make-up contains iron, we can remove it by repeated and gentle vaporization (evaporation). However, scarring is more likely with this method.

The number of repetitions of the laser treatment depends on how much pigment is under the skin or how old and good the tattoo is. The doctor must carefully balance the strength of the pulses so that they are effective and yet the skin heals well after treatment. If the tattoo or pigmentation is to be completely lost, it is definitely necessary to repeat the laser treatment several times. In the case of tattoo removal, this involves 3-8 treatments at an interval of 6 weeks.
